Workshop goals:
1. Share experiences and knowledge to better understand challenges and opportunities
2. Explore connections between organic management and soil health and how to best measure
soil health in organic systems
3. Develop a network of farmers, researchers, and other stakeholders to share information,
experiences, and knowledge critical to the success of organic agriculture
Who should attend:
• Current organic growers (certified or not; large or small acreage; fruit, vegetable, grain,
dairy or livestock producers)
• Growers interested in transitioning to organic production
• Growers interested in how to measure and monitor soil health
• Anyone interested in learning more about organic production and soil health
Workshop format:
• Invited speakers from the Idaho State Department of Agriculture Organic Program and
University of Idaho
• Facilitated discussions among farmers, researchers and educators
