Palouse Cover Crop Field Tour
Thursday June 30, 2022
South of Uniontown and North of Pullman
7:30 – 11:30 am
Registration

Palouse Conservation District will host a Cover Crop Field Tour on Thursday, June 30th from 7:30 to 11:30 am. Local producers will share insights from cover crop trials on their operations, as well as a hands-on soil health demonstration.

The tour will begin four miles south of Uniontown and conclude six miles north of Pullman. Participants will travel to a total of two sites. Producers will discuss the successes and challenges of seed mixes, including seed rates and termination tactics, to build soil fertility and organic matter, reduce soil erosion, and manage compaction, field moisture, weeds, pests, and disease. A hands-on demonstration on how to conduct an on-farm soil health assessment will be provided by planners from Palouse Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Participants must provide their own transportation between sites. Carpooling is encouraged. Out of respect for the producers, the locations will remain confidential and will be disclosed upon registration. This event is free and open to the public. Dress for the weather. Refreshments will be provided.

Sincerely,
